Solid beech chair and stool with a tatami seat, made in Italy. The frame has straight lines and a generous section, assembled in solid wood, with no upholstery or padding: the seat is a piece of genuine tatami edged in black fabric, set into the wooden frame.
Natural tatami seat
Tatami is woven from natural rice fibre, the same material used in traditional Japanese flooring. It is firm, breathable and dry to the touch, and with use it shifts from its initial pale green to a golden tone. With no foam or synthetic fabric, the seat neither traps heat nor loses its shape over time.
Chair with backrest or backless stool
The backrest version has a single piece of solid wood at back height, reaching 89 cm overall, and works as a dining or desk chair. The stool does without the backrest: it takes up less room, moves with one hand and tucks fully under the table when not in use. Both versions share the same frame, seat dimensions and finish.
